After winning a Gold with the US Basketball team at the 1960 Olympics, Jeff Mullins became the Warriors star shooting guard during the team’s first decade in San Francisco. The 3-time All-Star helped lead the Warriors to a Western Conference title in 1967 and the NBA championship in 1975. Mullins donned this jersey during his 1972-73 season in which he 17.8 points per game in 81 games. The gold jersey has the Golden State logo printed on the front along with Mullins’ number 23. The arm and neck openings are trimmed in blue and white while the sides are trimmed in white. A gold strip tag is affixed to the lower left front which has “23 44” 72” in blue chain stitching. A Wilson size 44 label is fixed beside the strip tag. The back of the jersey has “MULLINS” in blue tackle twill above his number “23” printed in blue. The jersey exhibits good game use with overall toning from age and some staining and scuffing throughout. The printed graphics show some chipping and color loss and the tackle twill lettering display some puckering from repeated laundering. There are stray treads visible, but the overall condition remains excellent, and the jersey displays nicely. A great jersey from just the second season after the team was rebranded as the Golden State Warriors.
