Whistling to the tunes of Sister Sledge's "We Are Family", the 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates danced their way to a World Series title behind the star play of Roberto Clemente, Willie Stargell and co. in the club's very first season at Three Rivers Stadium, winning a thrilling 7-game series over the Baltimore Orioles. Presented here is a staff member's issued 14-karat gold ring manufactured by Jostens and coming in size 9.5. The face holds a large CZ in the center surrounded by "1971 PITTSBURGH" and "WORLD CHAMPIONS" in raised lettering. Under the recipient's name "McCarthy" on one shank is a raised baseball etched with the word "TICKETS" (presumably the staff member's department) along with an illustration of the new stadium. The opposite panel features the team logo and "PIRATES" above. "JOSTENS 14K" is hallmarked inside the band. The ring does show some wear yet remains in excellent shape. It does not come with its original box.
