The 1971 Minnesota Vikings finished in first place in the NFC Central with a regular season record of 11-3, tied with the NFC East Champion Dallas Cowboys for the best regular season record in the NFL that season. Coached by Bud Grant, the Vikings would lose in their opening round playoff game to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Cowboys, 20-12. This lot includes a Wilson football that has been signed in black ink by 29 of the Vikings team members. Top autographs include Hall of Famers Alan Page, Jim Marshall, Ron Yary and Paul Krause. All signatures rate 9/10. The football includes one white panel that has the Vikings team logo emblazoned on it. Included with this lot is an acrylic football disp0lay case with a wood base that boasts a gold plaque reading: "1971 Minnesota Vikings."

The Robert Zweigle collection represents 40 years of assembling sports memorabilia items from college and professional football, professional golf and NCAA basketball. Bob Zweigle was a major supplier of promotional products to the NFL who personally attended 38 Super Bowls, working closely with NFL personnel and establishing unique connections that helped grow his collection. He designed/produced Super Bowl press pins from XXV through XXXIX (the final year the NFL produced its own pins). He also designed/produced the Player Participation Trophy and Player of the Game Trophy for the Pro Bowl, as well as the Arena Bowl Championship Trophy. He made it a personal quest to obtain in-person autographs on important memorabilia items at many sporting events wherein he had rare and unusual access.
