Jim Washington played 11 seasons in the NBA after a stellar college career at Villanova. The 6'6" forward nicknamed "Jumpin Jimmy" averaged 10.6 points and 8.6 rebounds for his career, averaging over double figures in boards four times. In 1971 he was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Atlanta Hawks for another forward, Bill Bridges. Presented here is Washington's 1971-72 game worn Hawks jersey, a colorful style that brings Jim's Hawks teammate "Pistol Pete" Maravich to mind.

Tagged by Rawlings inside the tail, the blue jersey with green and gray stripes down its right side comes in size 44 and shows heavy wear throughout. With a cost-conscious mindset common for that period, long before the NBA became a global enterprise, the Hawks re-purposed this jersey previously worn by Bill Bridges, sewing and patching and converting #32 to #12 for newly acquired Washington. So this is actually a jersey with game use from two different players traded for each other. Jim Washington has signed the front of the jersey. Great exemplar of a popular vintage style. Autograph certified by Beckett.
