By 1970 Vince Lombardi had amassed a resume that would earn him a spot in the Football Hall of Fame and recognition as the greatest coach in pro football. In his seven seasons with Green Bay, Lombardi took his team to five NFL Championships including victories in the first two Super Bowls. This evocative original portrait was snapped of Lombardi in 1970, within months of his death on September 3. The front of the photo displays tight borders and corners. There are some surface scuffs and toning throughout from age. The back has a caption slug affixed along with some staining from production use. A great image of the game’s greatest coach in the final season of his life. The 7x9 photo has been authenticated and encapsulated Type I by PSA/DNA.
