These shoes may have been the only thing that some batters got a good look at in the 1970's; it certainly wasn't Steve Carlton's fastball or his slider. These shoes reveal all the Herculean effort the Hall of Famer undertook on behelf of the Philly Phaithful in the 1970s as he logged 172 wins in the nine seasons from 1972-80, a stretch that included four 20-plus win seasons and three Cy Young Awards. The Size 10 adidas shoes are in marvelous condition given the prodiguous game use, with everything intact; Carlton's No. 32 is written in black marker inside the toungue of each shoe and his name is hand printed in marker on the bottom of the sole. Simply a superb artifact from arguably the greatest pitcher in the club's history.
