Lou Brock was one of the greatest players in St. Louis Cardinals’ history. A speedy outfielder, Brock held the MLB record in stolen bases (938) for 12 years until Rickey Henderson broke it in 1991. A career .293 hitter, Brock is also a member of MLB’s exclusive “3,000 Hit Club.” Originally a member of the Chicago Cubs, Brock landed in St. Louis in 1964 and played there until his retirement in 1979. This lot includes a game-worn Cardinals’ cap of Brock’s that he wore sometime during his first six years with the team. The Navy blue, 100% wool Harry Walker Pro Model cap (size 7¼) sports the team’s red “STL” logo with white outline on it and includes Lou Brock’s signature on the underside of the bill. It also includes his uniform No. 20 as well as the word “Gamer” on it to indicate that Brock wore this during an official MLB game. The cap shows moderate to light wear. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
