Rusty Nagelson enjoyed a short, three-year stint in the major leagues where he played for the Cleveland Indians for two and a half seasons (1968-70) before closing out with the Detroit Tigers in 1970. An outfielder and pinch-hitter, Nagelson, a right-handed fielder, batted from the left-side of the plate and collected just 16 hits during his MLB career. This lot features Nagelson's 1970 Cleveland Indians game worn road jersey.

The Spalding, size 44 gray flannel jersey is in excellent condition with proper tagging on the left front tail including the sewn-on blue Spalding label accompanied by "44" size tag to its immediate right. Directly below that resides a sewn-on washing instructions tag that reads in part: "DO NOT DRY CLEAN," with an attached flag tag reading "SET 1 #8P 1970" to reflect the set number and season. Across the front of the jersey stretches "CLEVELAND" in three-inch tall red tackle twill lettering outlined in white and blue. Either arm pit area sports four manufactured air holes and all seven original buttons exist down the front of the immaculately preserved jersey. The left sleeve boasts the Indians trademarked red, white and blue "Chief Wahoo" embroidered logo patch. The back of the jersey sports Nagelson's uniform number "25" measuring in at 7.25" tall in red tackle twill outlined in blue and white. Just a beautifully preserved flannel that is nearing the half century mark as it is currently 46 years of age.

Part of the esteemed Delbert Mickel estate collection.
