ADDENDUM: Bat grade listed in catalog is inaccurate. GU 9.5 is correct.

Despite his "Killer" nickname, Harmon Killebrew was a quiet, kind man who did not take much to the partying lifestyle enjoyed by many of his peers. He became one of the American League's most feared power hitters in the 1960’s, belting 40 homers in a season eight times. After winning A.L. MVP honors in '69 with 49 homers, 140 RBI and 145 walks while leading Minnesota to the division title, Harmon finished 3rd in the MVP race in 1970 with 41 bombs and 113 ribbies for the Twinkies. The 5’ 11” right-handed slugger currently sits at #12 on the all-time home run list with 573 and his legend grows thicker by the years.

Presented here is Killebrew's 1970 game-used Hillerich & Bradsby professional mode S207 bat, uncracked and showing evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks and ball stitch marks are visible on the left and back barrel. Also visible on the 35" bat are cleat marks on the right barrel and blue bat rack streaks on the handle. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. The model number (S207) is stamped into the knob. Killebrew's number (3) is on the knob in black marker. Also visible on the knob is the weight of the bat "31-1/2" (ounces) written in pencil and "1 1/2" written in black marker. The factory noted weight of the bat allowed bat expert John Taube to pinpoint the bat's shipping record as July 22, 1970. Killebrew's autograph appears on the front barrel in faded black marker.

The bat originated from a Killebrew collector who apparently acquired many items directly from Harmon or his estate. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA with a nearly perfect GU 9.5 grade (1B17887). Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
