This is an artifact of considerable import from Denny McLain's final season as a member of the Tigers, coming off perhaps the finest back-to-back seasons for a pitcher in the postwar era. And by that we mean a 55-15 won/loss log, with a pair of Cy Young Awards and an MVP Award. Here offered is a Detroit Tigers road jersey worn by McLain during the 1970 season. This gray flannel button-down garment features "DETROIT" arched across the chest in navy blue twill, "17" sewn to the back, and "McLain" arched atop the number on the back in like fashion. Within the collar, a virtually pristine "Rawlings" manufacturer's label denotes size "42." On the tapered and vented left front tail, a laundering instructions tag is accompanied by a smaller "Size 40" tag and smaller still "SET 1 - #8P - 1970" flap tag. Medium wear is evident, with minimal fraying of any of the stitching around the "Detroit" letters on the front or his name or number on the back. There are four holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. A blue Sharpie McLain autograph appears on the right side lower tail, with "Best Wishes" inscription added.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
