ADDENDUM: PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DESCRIPTION FOR THIS LOT HAS CHANGED. The name "DOBSON" on back has been removed. A very clear outline of the stitching pattern where the letters once were can be seen when the jersey is held up to light.

1970 Oakland A's road flannel vest-style jersey game worn by Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Chuck Dobson. 1970 would turn out to be the best year of Dobson's career as the right-hander won 16 games with a 3.74 ERA and led the American League with 40 starts. Kelly green "29" and "A's" outlined in gold across chest on front with large "29" in the same green and gold on the back. Kelly green with gold trim on sleeves and around collar. McAuliffe, Size 46, and "70" tags all sewn in front shirttail. The name "DOBSON" on back has been removed. A very clear outline of the stitching pattern where the letters once were can be seen when the jersey is held up to light. Jersey is in great condition with light-to-moderate wear. Classic flannel from an era that would soon be dominated by Oakland A's baseball.
