Original Type 1 photograph of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as he appeared with pastor Wyatt Tee Walker at the New Canaan Baptist Church in New York. Snapped just two weeks before his assassination, this is one of MLK's last known photographs ever taken. Issued by the United Press and stamped on the back with a full paper caption. The 7x9 photo was taken on March 24, 1968 and issued on March 25th. King would shot and killed on April 4, 1968 in Memphis, TN.

About Wyatt Tee Walker and his role in the Civil Rights movement: Described by King as “one of the keenest minds of the nonviolent revolution,” Walker served as executive director of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) from 1960 to 1964. Very important photo from the height of the Civil Rights movement! Encapsulated as Type 1 by PSA/DNA.
