John H. McKay was the longtime head football coach of the USC Trojans. McKay coached the team from 1960 to 1975 and won four national championships (12962, ’67, ’72 and ’74) on his way to establishing an overall record of 127-40-8. This lot features the Howard Jones Memorial Football Award for the 1967 National Championship presented to University of Southern California. The laminated wooden plaque, which measures 12.5” wide by 18” high, calls out Head Coach John McKay and his record of 10-1 that season and also includes a pair of signatures from Tay Brown, USC’s team captain from the 1932 squad which produced Howard Jones' only perfect season at USC, and then-USC President Norman Topping. It also lists the seven assistant coaches from the ’67 campaign as well as all 47 Trojan team members.

Includes Letter of Provenance from the Newport Sports Museum.
