The finest and only known GEM MINT PSA 10. Murcer came to the Yankees in 1969 with the impossible task of replacing the legendary Mickey Mantle in center field. He put up some decent numbers but the unrealistic expectations of the fans and the fact he was only the 3rd Yankee, behind DiMaggio and Mantle, to receive a $100,000 salary, led to an exit from the team after the 1974 season. He went on the have a very solid 17 year career and retired with a .277 batting average and .445 slugging percentage. After his retirement he worked as an announcer for the Yankees for over 20 years.
