Warren Spahn was one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history as his 363 lifetime victories rank
fifth all-time, and first among left-handers. He shares the record with Christy Mathewson for 20-win
seasons (13), and led the senior circuit in victories in eight of his glorious seasons. Spahn was a throwback
to an age when relief pitching was less specialized as his 382 complete games remain the highest for any
post-war pitcher. Offered is Warren Spahn’s game worn road jersey from his final season with the Braves
in 1964. On the front left tail is the “Rawlings” manufacturers size 42 tag. On the inside left tail is the wash
instructions tag with the “SET 1 1964” flag tag attached. In the back inside collar is the “Spahn 1964 21”
chain stitched in navy blue on a felt strip tag. A heavily embroidered “Braves” spans the chest. On the
lower left breast and on the back is the player number “21.” Across the back is the player name “SPA HN.”
All lettering and numbering is red on navy blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the Braves embroidered
“Indian Head” patch. Spahn has autographed on front in black marker. The jersey presents the ultimate
combination of pure originality and ideal game use attributes, remaining exactly as it was when the all-time
great lefty last removed it from his back. A truly exceptional game jersey used by the legendary Warren
Spahn from the twilight of his illustrious Hall of Fame career.
