Richie Allen (also referred to as Dick Allen), from Wampum, PA, was the N.L. Rookie of The Year in 1964 and enjoyed a 15-year career where he hit 351 career home runs and retired with a very respectable .292 batting average. He was one of the most feared hitters of his era.
Presented here is Allen's highly desired Rookie Card in a strong PSA NM-MT 8. This card is especially crisp and colorful.
The other Phils player pictured on the card John Herrnstein did make the major leagues, but was perhaps equally known as captain of the 1958 University of Michigan Wolverines football team.
