Besides singing, Elvis Presley – the “King of Rock 'n Roll” – was also an actor with more than 30 movie credits to his name. One of those films was the 1964 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer release, Viva Las Vegas, a romantic comedy in which he co-starred with Ann-Margret. The film is regarded by many as one of Presley's best films and it is noted for the on-screen chemistry between the two stars. The film also marked their first time on screen together. It ranked No. 14 on Variety magazine’s year-end box office list of the top-grossing films of 1964.
This lot offers an 8” x 10” black-and-white publicity photo from 1964 promoting the film, which shows Presley in a suit and tie with perfectly quaffed hair strumming a guitar.
