This 11-inch loving cup was awarded to former NBA guard Wali Jones, naming him the Most Valuable Player in the 1963 Holiday Basketball Festival at Madison Square Garden in his final year at Villanova. The metal cup has a simulated gold paint finish that is heavily tarnished from age; in addition, what appears to have been a 1.5-inch in diameter seal is apparently missing from the middle of the year imprinting. Wali Jones played 10 years in the NBA and one in the ABA. In 1966-67 he was a starting guard on the World Champion Philadelphia 76ers.

LOA from Wali Jones.
