The only perfect GEM MINT PSA 10 from the extremely condition conscious 1962 Topps Stamps Baseball issue. The versatile Torre began as a catcher with the Milwaukee Braves in 1962, moved to first in 1969, and in 1971 switched full time to 3rd base by the St. Louis Cardinals where he promptly won the National League Batting Title with a .363 average. Over his long 18 year career he averaged .297. Not bad for someone who played the majority of his games at catcher. As a manager, he was one of the best. His 2326 wins places him 5th on the all time manager win list. During his 12 year stint with the New York Yankees his teams finished first 10 times, 2nd twice, winning 6 American League Pennants and 4 World Series. Why he is not yet in the Baseball Hall of Fame remains a mystery.
