The Western Conference Packers (11-3) crushed their Eastern foes, the New York Giants (10-3-1)37-0 in the first Championship game played at the "New" City Stadium in Green Bay, Wisconsin on December 31, 1961. This was the first of 5 NFL titles won over a 7 year span by the legendary coach Vince Lombardi.
