This uniquely designed, 34" x 42" framed display pays tribute to the 1961 World Champion New York Yankees. It features 44 signatures (mostly "cuts" and index cards, with some baseball cards, postcards and a personal check) that are boldly scripted in black or blue ink by virtually every member of the 1961 New York Yankees. All signed pieces are individually recess-matted within a Yankees-style pin-striped matte-board along with a black & white team photo and corresponding printed roster. The item showcases the key autographs of Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford (Perez-Steele postcard), Ralph Houk (manager), Elston Howard, Mickey Mantle (Perez-Steele postcard), Roger Maris, Bobby Richardson, and Bill Skowron just to name a few. The piece was originally assembled and constructed by James Spence and bears his signature and date “3/02” on the back of the frame. An incredibly complete and elaborate composition celebrated one of the most storied seasons in baseball history. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. *Jim Heagan traced.
