Although the 1960 World Series will be forever remembered for Bill Mazeroski's dramatic Game #7 heroics, the Series was statistically lopsided in favor of the Yankees. Mickey Mantle led the way with three home runs and a batting average of .400. Mantle later recounted that losing the 1960 World Series was the greatest disappointment of his professional career. World Series game used bats, such as this, are highly prized among collectors for their scarcity and historical significance. Given the magnitude of Mantle's collector appeal and the fact that he owned the World Series over the course of his 18-year career, this bat certainly ranks among the finest World Series model bats ever offered publicly.

Specially manufactured for Mickey Mantle for the epic 1960 Series, this Adirondack model #302 bat measures 35 1/2" long and weighs 31.6 ounces. Excellent use is immediately visible throughout the bat including deeply embedded ball marks present on all sides of the barrel, which would be expected from the switch-hitting Mantle. Pronounced stitching impressions, and cleat marks are evident along the end of the barrel with black shoe polish visible on the left side of the barrel. Model #113A is stamped on the knob end with "1960 World Series" and "MANTLE" stamped in white lettering on the barrel. Mantle has signed the barrel, "Mickey Mantle No. 7" in blue sharpie. An elite specimen in the category of Mantle game used bats, this is one of only five World Series models documented in the database of MEARS. Includes LOA from MEARS (Grade A10). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.).
