1960 University of Iowa Big Ten Championship watch given by assistant coach Jerry Burns to a friend. Jerry Burns was an assistant coach on the 1960 Big Ten Champions and became the head coach the next year at the young age of 34. He coached the Hawkeyes until 1965, moving on to the pro ranks the next year. After 2 years as a Green Bay Packer assistant, he went to the Vikings, being offensive coordinator from 1968 through 1985 and eventually head coach from 1986 to 1991, finishing with a 52-43 record and 3 play-off appearances. "Iowa 1960 Big Ten Champions" on front face. "Ollie from Jerry Burns" inscribed on back. Elgin self winding watch appears to run fine.
