1) April 8, 1960 four page hand written letter on his own stationary from Ty Cobb to former teammate Mickey Cochrane, concerning Cochrane's attempt to possibly acquiring a Coca-Cola franchise. Cobb goes into great detail on what to do and look for, right down to "how many trucks they own and use." He also warns "I stress strongly Mickey you must have a practical and experienced plant manager..." Cobb ends the letter by signing "As Ever TY" in perfect looking 9-10/10 vintage green ink. Letter in beautiful shape aside from a small, about 1/4" by 2" stain at the bottom right corner of the first page. Outstanding insight into the business acumen of the Detroit Tiger Hall of Fame legend.

2) April 8, 1960 telegram from Cobb to Cochrane, at the same time as the letter, in which Cobb states (about Coca-Cola) "Am turning on the gas for you." and "(You) Must remember I do not run this company, but for you Mickey I shall go all out". Beautiful condition.

Includes a letter of provenance from the Cochrane estate.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
