Curt Flood is a former major leaguer who played the majority of his career for the St. Louis Cardinals. A three-time All-Star center fielder and seven-time Gold Glove award winner, Flood was also a two-time World Series champion with the Cardinals (1964 and ’67). He was also a pivotal figure in helping to establish the free-agent market for veteran ballplayers. This lot includes a 1960’s Curt Flood St. Louis Cardinals game-worn batting helmet adorned with plenty of pine tar and showing lots of wear and tear. The helmet still sports its original “STL” white log on the front as well as its padding on the inside. Flood’s uniform No. 21 as well as his last name is spelled in black marker on the inside of the inside.
