Bouncing back from a down year, the 1960 New York Yankees finished the regular season 97-57 under manager Casey Stengel to win their 25th pennant, taking the American League by eight games over the Baltimore Orioles. A heartbreaking defeat to the Pirates in the Fall Classic on Bill Mazeroski's Game 7 walk-off shot motivated the Yanks for their majestic '61 campaign featuring a dramatic home run chase. This well-conditioned OAL (Cronin) ball with little toning contains 23 autographs from the AL champs. While the sweet spot Mickey Mantle has been deemed Clubhouse, fellow Hall of Famers Yogi Berra (SS) and Whitey Ford are genuinely present as is a lovely 7/10 Roger Maris. Other notables on the ball include Elston Howard, Bob Turley, Bill Skowron, Bobby Richardson, Bobby Shantz, Tony Kubek, Duke Maas, Johnny Blanchard, Bronstad, Carey, Coates, DeMaestri, Ditmar, Grba (twice), Hadley, Lopez, McDougald and Valo. Blue penned autographs average 7/10. on thr EX-MT ball. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG07308).
