Willie McCovey was a rookie sensation and despite only playing 52 games during the 1959 campaign he still claimed the NL Rookie of the Year honors. He had an exceptionally swift ascent and even grabbed the rookie of the month award during his first full month in the big leagues. To our knowledge, there's only been one other bat that has ever come to market from his rookie campaign.
This model K55 Hillerich and Bradsby baseball bat weighs 30.5 oz. and measures 34.5" in length and was used during McCovey's infancy in the big leagues. There is a slight handle crack that's been professionally repaired. Tons of ball marks are located on the right and back barrel and green bat rack streaks along with cleat marks are also visible. McCovey signed the barrel in 8-9/10 black felt tip and added "1959 S.F. Giants 354 BA. 13 HRs." Two PSA/DNA stickers are on the barrel end. "K55" is punched into the knob of the bat. Accompanied by an LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 8.5 (1B16844) and PSA/DNA LOA for the autograph (1A32837).
