ADDENDUM: There is no 1959 Celtics charm included with this lot as isstated in the catalog.

In 1959, the Boston Celtics were once again crowned NBA Champions. It marked their second league title. Led by Coach Red Auerbach and the likes of Hall of Famers Bill Russell, Bob Cousy and K.C. Jones, the team compiled a regular-season record of 59-16 and defeated the St. Louis Hawks in seven games in the NBA Finals. Two years later, they won again to claim their fourth NBA Championship.

This lot features a rare set of jewelry commemorating that special ’59 campaign from the early era of the Celtics long-lasting dynasty. The first is a 10-karat gold tie bar that includes a circular design reading “1959 BOSTON CELTICS WORLD CHAMPIONS in raised gold lettering around a three-leaf clover in green enamel that includes a singular real diamond in the center. The tie bar weighs 12 grams and is engraved on the reverse with “KOCH 10K.”

The second gem from that same championship season comes in the form of a very rare pair of 10-karat gold cufflinks that sport the same design as the face of the tie bar, also with a singular real diamond. The cufflinks collectively weigh 16 grams and are each engraved on the reverse with “KOCH 10K.” Moderate wear and handling is evident on each individual piece, but overall this collectible group remains in tremendous condition.
