The 1958 Milwaukee Braves finished first in the National League with a record of 92-62 and returned to the World Series for the second consecutive year, losing to the New York Yankees in seven games. The Braves set a Major League record which still stands for the fewest players caught stealing in a season, with eight. The team was once again led by Manager Fred Haney and the heavy-hitting bats of future Hall of Famers Hank Aaron and Eddie Mathews. This lot includes one 1958 Milwaukee Braves team-signed ball. The official National League (Giles) baseball has been signed by 23 members of the team including Haney across the sweet spot. Other notable signatures on the baseball include HOFers Aaron, Mathews, Red Schoendienst and Warren Spahn, along with Andy Pafko, Del Crandall, Joe Adcock and even Frank Torre. The signatures, all in various shade of blue or black ink, are all pretty strong although a few have faded over time. Overall rating would be in the 7-8/10 range. A great piece of Milwaukee Braves’ baseball history!
