Out of the 231 examples of Jim Paxson's 1957 Topps card graded by PSA, only one example is graded higher than the PSA NM-MT 8 being offered here. This card struggles a bit with centering, but is otherwise a gorgeous card with a sharp picture and even sharper edges.
Paxson was a standout player for the University of Dayton Flyers in the 1950's, when their basketball program rose to national prominence. Decades after this Topps issue, Mr. Paxson's sons Jim (Blazers, Celtics) and John (Spurs, Bulls) became outstanding NBA players.
