An average hitter over the course of his 16 year career, Boyer seemed to get the big one when needed and was a key part of the 1960 through 1964 New York Yankee World Series teams. With the glove he was almost without comparison. Were it not for Brooks Robinson, Boyer might best be remembered as the best fielding 3rd baseman of his era. One of the 3 Boyer brothers who played in the 1950' and 60's.
