The 1957 MLB All-Star Game was played on July 9th at Sportsman Park in St. Louis, the home of the Cardinals. In a hotly contested game played in front of 30,693 fans, the A.L. All-Stars edged their N.L. counterparts, 6-5. Detroit right-hander Jim Bunning got the win. This official National League (Giles) baseball includes 28 signatures from the victorious American League squad including Manager Casey Stengel in blue ink across the sweet spot. Leftfielder Minnie Minoso also shares the sweet spot with Stengel. Other notable autographs on the ball include Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle (seriously faded), Nelson “Nellie” Fox, Yogi Berra, Al Kaline, Early Wynn and Bunning. Majority of signatures – in various shades of blue ink – are solid, rating 8-9/10.
