After being humiliated by the Yankees in five previous World Series meetings, 1955 proved to be the Brooklyn's lucky year. This lot includes a full ticket from Game 1 and three ticket stubs from Games 2, 5 and 6 of that historic series. Game 1 pitted aces Don Newcome of the Dodgers against Whitey Ford of the Yanks, the latter eking out a 6-5 win aided by Joe Collins’ two home runs. Game 2 had the Yankees besting Brooklyn 4-2 to take a quick two-game advantage. By the time Game 5 began, the Dodgers had evened the series and went on to take the lead after Duke Snider smashed two home runs and Sandy Amoros added another in the 5-3 win. The Yankees came roaring back in Game 6 behind the 4-hit pitching of ace Whitey Ford and a 5-run first inning. That win set the stage for the deciding Game 7, which resulted in the Dodgers' lone World Championship in Brooklyn.

The Game 1 Upper Stand full ticket is graded PSA Fair 1.5 and has heavy spot toning and discoloration on the edges and borders. The Game 2 Lower Stand ticket stub has been graded PSA Good 2. There is heavy toning with scuffs to the edges and discoloring along the bottom. The Game 5 Upper Stand stub is graded PSA VG 3 and shows overall toning with slight discoloration and wear along the edges. The Game 6 Lower Stand grades PSA Good 2 and displays significant toning along with edge wear and pitting from age.
