In 1955 the Brooklyn Dodgers not only won the National League pennant, but 'Dem Bums finally went on to beat their crosstown pinstriped rivals from the Bronx in the World Series. It was one of the more memorable seasons and Fall Classics in baseball history, with the "Boys of Summer" winning an epic seven-game series and capturing the hearts of baseball lovers everywhere.
Presented here is a full proof ticket from the deciding Game 7 played at Yankee Stadium. Dodgers starter Johnny Podres, a complete-game victor in Game 3, again came up huge for the Boys in Blue bu hurling a shutout to seal the first and only World Series title for the city of Brooklyn.
