Classic 13" by 20-3/4" advertising piece features a die cut team picture of the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers set within a fragile cardboard frame. Honoring Brooklyn's only world championship team, these signs were distributed to bars and retailers offering Schaefer beer. The uniquely designed display features three rows of players die cut and spaced so as to create a three-dimensional effect. The elaborate design of this fragile cardboard display piece makes it extremely susceptible to damage. This team photo has fared much better than most with only one slight crease to a player's neck in the back row. Most of the problems deal with the frame - creasing at both sides of the "Schaefer Beer" sign at top, tears at the upper corners, left and right sides, some minor paper loss at the lower right front. Piece has been beautifully mounted inside a 17" by 24" by 2 3/4" Plexiglas frame and is ready for hanging on the wall. One of the better preserved examples we have seen over the years.
