According to PSA's website: "The 1955 Topps Baseball set consists of 206 cards, each measuring 2-5/8" by 3-3/4”. Numerically the smallest Topps issue, the 1955 presentation was originally meant to total 210 cards, but card #s 175, 186, 203, and 209 were never produced. The redesigned set marked the first use of a horizontal format for player depictions through the entire production run – a design change coincidentally adopted by rival Bowman that same year. Unchanged by Topps was the two-image design, with every player depicted in a portrait and an action illustration, and sharing space with a colorful team logo."
Presented here is a high-grade near complete set (195/206) of 1955 Topps Baseball. All 195 cards are graded by PSA. Other than the Ed Mathews card that is graded PSA NM+ 7.5, all the other cards are graded PSA NM 7. The cards not included in this set are all available in this auction as individual lots, in Lots 487-496 & Lot 498.
