The 1955 Topps Double Header set is one of the more popular niche sets from the era. Collectors love the color and oversized nature of the set. A complete set is rarely seen and SCP is proud to offer this complete set of 66 cards. Most come in their more common perforated form, but a few gems are in the scarcer and more desirable unperforated form. The highlight is an unperforated #25 Jackie Robinson/#26 Don Hoak card that appears EX or better with nearly perfect centering, smooth edges and sharp corners. Unfortunately, PSA will no longer even encapsulate any unperforated cards from this set for reasons not given to us. An SGC NM-MT+ 8.5 unperforated Jackie sold for $2,640 last year as a reference. This one is currently getting SGC graded.
The set includes three PSA graded cards with #69 Ted Williams/#70 Hal Smith VG-EX 4, #45 Al Kaline/#46 Corky Valentine in PSA EX 5, and #105 Hank Aaron/#106 Ray Herbert in PSA VG-EX 4. Besides Jackie, other unperforated highlights are #31 Howie Pollet/#32 Ernie Banks, #29 Vic Power/#30 Ed Bailey and #47 Spook Jacobs/#48 Johnny Gray all in solid, mid-grade shape. The rest of the set falls in line with EX/EX-MT showing nice color and standard corner and centering.
