The 1955 New York Yankees won their 21st AL pennant after finishing with a 96-58 record. Casey Stengel's boys were then defeated by the Dodgers in 7-game Fall Classic that lived up to its billing and finally broke the curse in Brooklyn. This well-conditioned team ball contains 27 authentic signatures (no clubhouse) highlighted by an eye-catching sweet spot of Hall of Famers Mickey Mantle and Phil Rizzuto (both 6-7/10). Other notable signatures include fellow HOFers Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford and Bill Dickey, as well as Don Larsen, Jim Konstanty, Elston Howard, Billy Martin, Joe Collins, Bob Turley, Tommy Byrne, Bobby Richardson, Moose Skowron, Hank Bauer, Rip Coleman, Johnny Kucks, Bob Cerv, Andy Carey, Bob Grim, Gil McDougald, Tom Morgan, Irv Noren, Charlie Silvera, Tom Sturdivant, Eddie Robinson and Bob Wiesler. The warm, cream-colored OAL (Harridge) ball comes in EM/NM condition and the blue ink signatures average 7/10 in our book. "1955 Yankees" notation is in an unknown hand. Includes full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG02543).
