The 1955 New York Yankees finished with a record of 96-58, winning their 21st A.L. pennant, finishing three games ahead of the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees were managed by Casey Stengel. In the World Series, they were defeated by the Brooklyn Dodgers in seven games. This official American League (Harridge) Reach baseball has been signed in either blue or varying degrees of black ink by 27 members of the ’55 Yankees. Across the sweet spot can be found signatures of a pair of Hall of Famers and lifetime Yankees: Yogi Berra and Phil Rizzuto. Other Hall of Famers’ signatures found on the ball include Mickey Mantle, Ed “Whitey” Ford and Enos Slaughter. Other notable autographs include Bill “Moose” Skowron, Hank Bauer, Ralph Branca, Jerry Coleman, Bob Grim, Johnny Sain, Bobby Richardson, Bob Turley and Elston Howard, the latter being the very first African-American to ever play for the Yankees. The ball shows some toning, but is in remarkably good condition. The signatures all rate a strong 7-8/10.
Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family.
