The 1954 New York Yankees won 103 games, yet that was not enough to take the American League pennant as the Cleveland Indians won a then-A.L. record 111 games that fateful season before getting swept in the Fall Classic by the N.Y. Giants. Presented here is an off-white and lightly scuffed 1954 Yankees team-signed baseball with 28 signatures. Highlighted by the great Mickey Mantle, whose early career autograph (located on panel stamped with ball's size and weight) appears in 6/10 blue ballpoint, the Spalding 'Official Baseball' includes these other notables: Rizzuto (HOF)(SS), Berra (HOF), Ford (HOF), Slaughter (HOF), Bauer, Skowron, McDougald, Reynolds (SS), Coleman, Woodling, Gorman, McDonald, Byrd, Robinson, Brown, Houk, Noren, Miranda, Kuzava, etc. A few signatures are obscured by a large "JUNE 28, 1954" notation in unknown hand. All signatures come in 5-7/10 blue ballpoint. Leja and Lopat deemed clubhouse autographs by PSA/DNA.

Auction LOA from JSA. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
