Offered is a timely [and timeless] image of the Brooklyn Dodgers' Roy Campanella and New York Yankee Billy Martin in action during the 1953 World Series. Campy can be found bare-knuckling the baseball ready to tag out Martin in mid-air at home plate. This is the "other" angle of the most popular image of the pair during this famous moment in Game 4. The more well-known image was taken from the stands adjacent to the left-handed batter's box. The 7" by 9" original Type I photo has some minor toning and subtle wrinkle creasing along the borders. The reverse has the original Wide World Photos caption intact, but it's flipped backwards in the encapsulation. A bold red "SPORT" stamp runs across top. Encapsulated PSA/DNA Type I.

1953 WORLD SERIES ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH - UNIQUE ANGLE OF FAMOUS PLAY WHEN ROY CAMPANELLA TAGS OUT BILLY MARTIN AT PLATE - PSA/DNA TYPE I
