Featured is a crystal clear black and white original photograph of boxing icon, Rocky Marciano doing toe touches in preparation for his bout with Jersey Joe Walcot less than a month away. Marciano is surrounded by dozens of children from the Police Athletic League Youngsters of Liberty, New York on August 28, 1952. A 3-year old boy lays down and gazes at Marciano as his idol reaches for his toes on a towel on the grass. The other children depicted are in awe with varying looks of enthusiasm. Other than a minor crease on the upper left corner, this 7 x 9 photograph is immaculate. The fight that would take place on September 23 would culminate with a Marciano knockout of Walcott in the 13th round, maintaining his heavy weight title by doing so. The verso features a caption from the Associated press describing the event with the children and Marciano's prep for the big fight. Overall a NM or better quality original photograph of one of the most iconic boxing legends of all time. Authenticated and encapsulated TYPE 1 by PSA/DNA.
