For the New York Giants, just making the World Series was a monumental feat in 1951. Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" capped an incredible comeback to surpass the Brooklyn Dodgers and win the NL pennant. Unfortunately, their reward was to have to face the two-time defending World Champion Yankees. Presented here is a full unused ticket, graded PSA PR 1 (pop 3), from the Yanks' Game 6 clincher in the 1951 Fall Classic at Yankee Stadium. Hank Bauer's 3-run triple in the 6th was the game's biggest hit as the Yankees made it a Three-Peat. The 1951 World Series would be the first appearances on the biggest stage for both Willie Mays and Mickey Mantle, and the last for Joe DiMaggio. In fact, Game 6 was the final game of Joltin' Joe's legendary career.
Despite its poor rating, the ticket presents fairly well with good colors with print strength. There is some chipping at the top and bottom on the front, with multiple staple holes visible on the back. Only one full from the deciding Game 6 is graded higher than this one (GD 2).
