At the end of the 1951 season Joe DiMaggio turned his back on the highest salary in sports and left the game on his own terms. His legend firmly established DiMaggio handed the reigns to a promising young centerfielder named Mickey Mantle who made his debut in pinstripes that same year. Their time together with the Yankees was brief but successful culminating in a World Series victory over the Giants. This OAL (Harridge) ball features a total of 24 signatures including: Bauer Berra (MVP) DiMaggio (ss 9/10) Mantle (Rookie 8/10) Martin Reynolds Rizzzuto Mize etc. The medium toned ball is in EX-MT condition overall with a light coat of shellac and signatures averaging in the 7-8/10 range.
