Presented is a lengthy letter from Mickey to Merlyn Mantle filling four sheets of "Biltmore Hotel" stationery. The letter is accompanied by the original mailing envelope with March 21, 1951 postmark. Less than a month from his Major League debut, Mantle and the Yankees traveled through California playing a series of Exhibition games. Mantle writes, "Hello Honey, How are you getting along at the bank?...yesterday about 9 of us went threw (sic) M.GM. + 20th Century Fox Studios. We met a whole bunch of movie stars including - Spencer Tracy, Gene Kelly, Jane Greer, Betty Gable (sic), Debbie Reynolds...Tomorrow we play the Hollywood Stars again...I'll Always Love You, Mickey." The handwriting and signature rate 8/9 out of 10 and there are typical mailing folds and some light general wear. The envelope has been signed "Mick Mantle" as part of the return address. Accompanied by a  letter of provenance from the Mantle Family and a full LOA from JSA.
