Offered here is a PSA graded 1951 “American League of Professional Base Ball Clubs” Season Pass celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Junior Circuit. It enabled the pass holder (“L. W. Bone”) and a guest admission to every American League baseball game that season. It covered A.L. games played in each of these eight cities: Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis and Washington (as noted on the verso). Only eight of these passes have ever been authenticated by PSA, and this one was assessed PSA EX 5.
The 1951 season was a memorable one on many fronts, not the least of which was that it marked New York Yankees legend Mickey Mantle’s MLB debut on April 17, 1951, against the Boston Red Sox. Batting third and starting in right field, Mantle went 1-for-4 that day with a run scored and an RBI. Conversely, 1951 marked the final season of Joe DiMaggio. Tje baton was officially passed in the Bronx.
