Second baseman Red Schoendienst, was one of the most popular men to ever wear a Cardinals uniform. Chosen to 10 All-Star teams during the late 1940s and 1950s, the slick fielding, hard hitting redhead, went on to manage the Cards to the 1967 World Championship and a 1968 NL pennant.

Presented here is Red Schoendienst’s H&B pre-1960 professional model game used bat. Measuring 34 inches, the bat features the unique and desirable trait of having two different sets of manufacturer’s model numbers stamped into knob including “G 66” (H&B) and “181 B” (Adirondack) indicating Schoendienst had this bat shipped to Adirondack as a prototype for same style bats to be made under the Adirondack brand. The uncracked bat shows good use, and has been autographed by Red in black marker on the barrel. The unusual bottle style example with a small knob is a very scarce player style patterned after Heine Groh’s model. A terrific Schoendienst bat with many interesting features.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
