Presented here is a Phil Rizzuto Hillerich & Bradsby professional model game used bat dating to 1950-51 when "The Scooter" was in the prime of his Hall of Fame career. The Yankees star shortstop would claim American League MVP honors in 1950 in the midst of New York's unprecedented five straight World Series titles from 1949 through 1953.
The bat measures 34.5" long and weighs 33.75 ounces, with model number "H117" stamped in the knob end. Factory records indicate that he ordered this model with these exact specifications in 1950 and '51. It remains un-cracked with moderate usage including ball marks, stitch impressions, bat rack streaks and grain swelling on both sides of the barrel. The bat received a half-point deduction from the authenticator due to light remnants of tape marks on the barrel. Rizzuto gamers are seldom offered and this is the only one we've ever had the pleasure of listing at auction. Includes LOA from MEARS graded A6.5.
