Nice pairing of 1948 London and 1956 Melbourne Summer Olympic Games participant's badges for swimming. The 1948 London Games swimmer's badge is made of an alloy metal and shield-shaped, measuring 48
mm tall and 32 mm wide, with an orange ribbon flag that reads,
"SWIMMING." The badge is etched 'XIV OLYMPIAD LONDON 1948' with
an intricately detailed depiction of Big Ben and the Tower of London. Pin back
is perfectly intact. Presents VF with tarnishing and wear to the metal mostly.
The 1956 Melbourne Games swimmer's badge is made of an alloy metal and oval-shaped, measuring 52
mm tall and 30 mm wide, with a white ribbon flag that reads,
"SWIMMING." The colorful, enameled badge is etched "OLYMPIC GAMES - MELBOURNE 1956" with
a lovely scene of the lit Olympic cauldron. Pin back
is perfectly intact. Labeled "3336" on back. Presents more GVF.
