Featured here is an important photograph of Gandhi addressing the media in October of 1947 in Delhi. Published by International News Service, the photo is stamped on the reverse by Brown Brothers. It has been authenticated as Type I by PSA/DNA and encapsulated in one of their new jumbo holders. The photo measures approximately 8" by 6.5" and displays the normal edge and corner wear found on a photo taken 75 years ago. Some small creases are evident on each corner but do not detract from the image of the political and spiritual leader in mid-speech. The handwritten caption on the verso reads "Mohandas K. Gandhi is shown as he addressed a mass meeting calling for the end of factional strife which caused the slaughter of thousands of Hindus and Muslims since the integration of the two new states of Pakistan and the Dominion of India - 10/18/47". A powerful message from Gandhi only three months before his untimely death. PSA/DNA TYPE I
